Books
I have thirteen books out there in the bookshops,
all currently in print. Eleven of them feature Kate Ivory,
a historical novelist living in Oxford who frequently – and
often unwillingly – finds herself involved in a crime.
The setting for these crime novels is the Oxford I have come
to know, with its colleges, libraries, parks and waterways.
The characters, whether academics, shopkeepers or novelists,
come out of my imagination – but believe me, they are
realistic.
In addition to these I have written two suspense novels
which are not in the series. Deathspell is about a strange
child who decides to get rid of her bullying stepfather.
The Rainbow Sign tells of a tragedy that happened thirty
years ago in the Middle East and which is still poisoning
the lives of a family in present-day Oxford.
Death and the Oxford Box was published earlier this year
in German by Luebbe Bastei, and they have plans to publish
Oxford Exit, Oxford Mourning and Oxford Fall, too. The first
two books in the Kate Ivory series will also be published
in Japanese by Kodansha in the near future.
