Death and the Oxford Box
This is the first in the Kate Ivory series.
Some years ago I was a member of a small running
group, and in this book I drew upon my experiences of battling
through rain, mud and gales to get fit enough to run a half-marathon
in this book. It poses the question: 'How far would you go
to help a friend?'
Kate is a member of a jogging group who
run the streets and footpaths of Oxford in the early morning.
The healthy exercise often comes a poor second to the group
gossip, however, and Kate and her companions listen avidly
to Rose's tales of her errant husband's latest wrongdoings.
Soon they are all involved in a crackpot scheme to rescue
a collection of enamel boxes for the unfortunate Rose - a
scheme which is used by one of their number to cover up a
murder.
The Manchester Evening News wrote: 'Smashing
whodunnit from a refreshingly different writer.'
